1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how
Matchcard
(iOS bundle identifier
com.cay.SportsApp),
developed by Cay Weissman
("we," "us," or "the developer"),
handles information when you use the Matchcard
mobile application (the "App").
2. What Matchcard does
Matchcard is a native iOS sports application providing live scores, schedules, standings, statistics, news, player information, and related sports content.
Matchcard supports pro football, college football, pro basketball, college basketball, and baseball.
Features may include win-probability charts, customizable Home widgets, pinned games, Lock Screen Live Activities, and live game discussions.
Matchcard requires Sign in with Apple to use the App, including browsing scores and participating in live game chat.
No betting or gambling. Matchcard does not provide sports betting, wagering, sportsbook odds, deposits, gambling payouts, or gambling services. Win-probability charts are informational sports analytics and are not betting odds.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information collected through app features
The information processed depends on which Matchcard features you choose to use.
When you use Sign in with Apple or live game chat, information processed may include:
- An account identifier provided through Sign in with Apple
- Your name or email address, if provided through Apple's authentication service
- An Apple private relay email address, if you choose Hide My Email
- Chat messages, replies, mentions, and reactions
- Message timestamps and associated account identifiers
- User reports, moderation information, and blocking preferences
Information necessary to operate live chat and moderation may be transmitted to and stored by the services supporting those features.
3.2 Information not required for basic use
Browsing scores, schedules, statistics, standings, and news does not require you to provide your name or email address directly to Matchcard.
Matchcard does not require access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photo library, or Health data for its core sports features.
Matchcard does not require precise location permissions to display sports information.
3.3 Technical information
When the App communicates with external services, technical information such as IP addresses, request times, device characteristics, and network requests may be processed by those services.
This information may be used to deliver content, maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and support security.
3.4 Apple platform information
Apple may independently process App Store downloads, purchase records, authentication information, diagnostics, and crash reports according to Apple's privacy practices.
4. Sign in with Apple
Matchcard offers Sign in with Apple for features requiring user authentication, including live game chat.
Apple may provide Matchcard with a unique account identifier and, depending on your choices and Apple's available information, your name or email address.
If you choose Hide My Email, Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your personal email address.
Authentication information is used to identify your account, associate your activity with that account, and support account security and moderation.
Sign in with Apple is required before any part of the App can be used.
Matchcard does not receive your Apple Account password through Sign in with Apple.
You can manage Matchcard's Sign in with Apple authorization through your Apple Account settings.
Revoking authorization does not necessarily delete account information or chat content already stored by Matchcard. To request deletion of stored account information, contact us using the details below.
5. Live game chat
Matchcard includes live discussions associated with sporting events.
Users may participate in conversations using messages, replies, mentions, and reactions.
Chat content is user-generated information. Messages and other interactions may be visible to other people using the corresponding game discussion.
Information associated with chat activity may include:
- Message content
- Replies and mentions
- Reactions
- Account identifiers
- Game or discussion identifiers
- Message creation times
- Moderation-related information
Chat information may be stored and transmitted through the services used to operate live discussions.
Other participants may read, copy, screenshot, or otherwise retain content that you choose to post.
Public chat notice. Do not share passwords, financial information, private contact details, or other sensitive information in live game discussions.
Matchcard may remove content or restrict participation when necessary to enforce community rules, investigate reports, or protect users.
6. Reporting and blocking
Matchcard provides tools for reporting inappropriate content and blocking users.
When a report is submitted, information related to the report may be processed, including the reported content, relevant account identifiers, the reason for the report, and associated discussion details.
This information is used to review possible violations, investigate abuse, and determine whether moderation action is appropriate.
Matchcard has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. Every report is reviewed within 24 hours. Within that period, violating content is removed and the responsible account is permanently ejected from the user-generated-content service.
Blocking information may be stored to maintain your blocking preferences and apply restrictions within chat.
Blocking another user does not necessarily delete messages previously submitted by either person.
Moderation records may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
7. Third-party services
7.1 Sports data providers
Matchcard retrieves sports information from third-party sports data providers and related sports data services.
This information may include scores, schedules, statistics, standings, player profiles, news, and win-probability analytics.
Network requests may expose technical information such as IP addresses, request timing, and device characteristics to the providers receiving those requests.
Matchcard is an independent application and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any sports league, governing body, team, or data provider.
7.2 Authentication and chat services
Matchcard uses Apple authentication services for Sign in with Apple.
The services supporting live chat and moderation may process the account, message, and technical information necessary to provide those features.
Such processing is subject to the applicable service arrangements and privacy practices.
7.3 App Store services
Apple provides App Store distribution, authentication, and in-app purchase infrastructure.
Apple's independent processing is governed by its own privacy policy.
8. Local device storage
Matchcard stores certain preferences and settings on your device to remember your choices and improve performance.
These may be stored using standard iOS storage mechanisms, including UserDefaults, AppStorage, and local application files.
Locally stored information may include:
- Appearance preferences
- Default opening screen or league
- Hide Scores settings
- Followed or favorited teams
- Pinned games
- Custom Home widget configurations
- Cached sports information
- Other interface preferences
Some settings associated with authenticated features may also be processed by the services supporting those features.
Removing the App generally removes its local application data according to iOS storage behavior, but does not automatically guarantee deletion of information stored remotely.
9. Home widgets and Live Activities
Matchcard supports customizable Home widgets displaying information about teams, players, leaderboards, and news.
Users may also pin games and enable Live Activities that present game information on the Lock Screen and other supported iOS interfaces.
Widget configurations and selected games may be stored locally to maintain your preferred layout and displayed content.
Sports information displayed through widgets and Live Activities may be retrieved from external sports data providers.
These features may also use Apple system services to display or update information.
Content displayed in widgets or Live Activities may be visible to anyone who can view your device screen.
Availability and behavior depend on device compatibility, iOS settings, and network connectivity.
10. Optional tips and custom app icons
Matchcard offers optional in-app purchases allowing users to support development and unlock custom app icons.
These purchases are processed through Apple's App Store payment infrastructure.
Matchcard does not directly receive your complete payment card number or payment credentials through Apple's in-app purchase system.
Information about purchase status, purchased products, and transaction identifiers may be processed to confirm purchases, restore eligible purchases, and provide purchased content.
Payment information independently collected by Apple is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Optional tips and icon purchases are not required to access basic sports scores and information.
11. Children's privacy
Matchcard is a general-audience sports information application and is not directed at children under the age of 13.
Matchcard does not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13.
Because live game chat permits user-generated content and account-based interaction, users should avoid sharing sensitive personal information in public discussions.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through Matchcard, contact us.
We will review the request and take appropriate steps under applicable law.
12. Data retention
Local preferences and cached information may remain on your device until you modify them, clear application data, or uninstall Matchcard.
Information associated with authenticated features, including account identifiers, chat activity, and moderation records, may be retained as needed to operate those features.
Retention may also be necessary for security, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, and compliance with applicable legal requirements.
Deleting the App does not automatically delete remotely stored account or chat information.
Users may request deletion of personal information associated with their Matchcard account using the contact information below.
Certain information may need to be retained for legitimate security or legal reasons, even after a deletion request.
14. Security
Matchcard aims to use reasonable security measures appropriate to the information processed through the App.
Network requests for sports information use HTTPS.
Sign in with Apple provides authentication through Apple's identity infrastructure.
Account-based features and moderation tools are intended to help protect the integrity of live discussions.
No internet-connected service or electronic storage method can guarantee absolute security.
Users are encouraged to keep iOS updated, protect their Apple Account, and avoid sharing sensitive information publicly.
15. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, applicable privacy laws may provide rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain information about personal data associated with you.
You may also have rights to object to certain processing or request information about how your data is used.
15.1 Local preferences
You can change supported settings directly in Matchcard or remove local application data using available iOS functionality.
15.2 Account information
Users may request access to or deletion of personal information associated with their Matchcard account.
Requests can be submitted using the contact information in this policy.
We may need to verify account ownership before processing certain requests.
15.3 Public chat content
Requests involving chat messages or other public interactions may be subject to technical, safety, and legal limitations.
Removing content from Matchcard does not remove copies previously saved or shared by other users.
15.4 California and similar privacy laws
Residents of California and other jurisdictions with applicable privacy protections may contact us to exercise their rights.
We do not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
Matchcard may update this Privacy Policy when features, services, data practices, or legal requirements change.
Updates will be reflected by revising the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Material changes may also be communicated through the App Store listing or an in-app notice when appropriate.
We encourage users to review this policy periodically.
